Call it a coup, or a constitutional crisis.

A coup by any other name is still a coup.

We are in a coup.

Use the word, say it out loud.

We’ve seen it on newscasts when it happened in faraway lands, somewhere else in the world.

It wasn’t here, and it wasn’t now.

Now it’s happening to us. In the United States of America.

Currently, The Divided States of America.

The new administration is doing its damndest to destroy our democracy.

We are witnessing a government takeover by an unelected invader and breaker of government departments, and a complicity corrupt GOP.

The man behind the January 6 coup is back in office and is tearing down America.

As he said he’d try to do.

Now, we’re seeing our government being dismantled, damaged, broken – while judges with backbones are standing up and pushing back.

Where are the safeguards to stop a coup?

We’re in a coup. We’re not living in a time when bothsidesism has any meaning whatsoever.

And, yes, there’s only one fully complicit party.

What’s fueling all this? Racism, cruelty, hate of women, hate of gay people, fear, threats, gaslighting, neverending lies, hate of anyone who isn’t white.

What is wrong with our country?

Look at your phone, or your wall calendar.

This is the year 2025.

Is this the future we want?

We’re in the midst of a coup.

Everyone’s saying it out loud, using their outside voice.

Submit in advance to Tyranny? Nope. No way. Not today, or on any other day.

Democratic leaders are speaking up about this ongoing illegal takeover of the federal government, and Republican voices are strangely silent.

One side is alarmed that a digital coup, a rights-stealing coup, a coup-in-progress is underway.

On the other side of the aisle – complicity, enablement, agreement. The destruction of democracy in the United States appears to be what they want.

Unless Republicans take a stand and say no to this now, they are in fact taking part in the destroying of our country.

Day by day, we’re seeing the constitution trampled, the Bill of Rights shredded, and our federal departments of healthcare, environmental protections, and the United States treasury hacked into by young hackers that have no right to access such sensitive data belonging to the American people.

It’s been a long-term goal of the Republicans to do away with any programs established by FDR, and anything that helps and lifts up people.

Is this their endgame, just standing aside and letting an unleashed, unelected, unvetted head of a make-believe federal department trample and destroy live-saving programs American citizens depend upon?

Now, the United States itself needs helping, requires saving, and is in dire need of those in power with a voice – Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and We the People – to speak up and stop the destruction of our country.
